5 Days Tour from Marrakech to Fes

DAY 1: Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ait Benhaddou – Dades Valley [334 km]

Your Private 5 days Desert tour from Marrakech to Fes begins in the morning from Marrakech. Travel through the High Atlas Mountains, stopping at scenic viewpoints to admire Berber villages and dramatic landscapes. Take a drive across the Tizi n’Tichka pass, one of Morocco most stunning mountain roads.

Explore the UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou, an ancient fortified village and a famous filming location. Spend about an hour walking through its narrow streets and historic kasbahs. Continue to Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Africa, with an optional visit to Atlas Studios. Travel through Skoura and the Rose Valley before reaching Dades Valley, with stops at the Monkey Fingers rock formations and the winding Dades Gorge. Overnight stay in Dades Valley.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert [264 km]

After breakfast, drive to Todra Gorge, famous for its steep cliffs and narrow canyon walls. Walk along the gorge and enjoy the stunning scenery. Continue through Erfoud, known for its dates and fossil markets, before arriving at the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Upon arrival, camels will be waiting for you to begin a ride across the dunes. Cross the desert while enjoying the fabulous sunset over the sand, creating perfect photo opportunities and desert views. After the ride, continue to your desert camp, where you’ll enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner accompanied by Berber music. Spend the night in the camp, relaxing and soaking in the desert atmosphere.

Day 3: Sahara Desert Exploration

Start your day with the sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi. After breakfast, we will explore the desert, visiting nomad families and traditional villages to experience the local way of life. Learn about the music and culture of the Gnawa people and enjoy a traditional Berber lunch.

Optional activities include quad biking, buggy rides, or relaxing at the camp while taking in the desert surroundings. The day is carefully designed to balance adventure with cultural experiences. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Ziz Valley – Midelt [261 km]

Leave the desert after breakfast and travel to Rissani, an historic town with lively souks. Continue through the Ziz Valley, known for its palm groves and old kasbahs, perfect for photos and short walks. Arrive in Midelt, a quiet mountain town known for apple orchards and fresh mountain air, for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Midelt – Cedar Forest – Ifrane – Fes [198 km]

On the final day, drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping at cedar forests to see the Barbary macaque monkeys in their natural habitat. Continue to Ifrane, often called the Switzerland of Morocco for its European-style architecture and tidy streets.
