Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley [325 km]

Your 6 days tour from Marrakech begins with a scenic drive through the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass. As you travel through winding mountain roads, you’ll pass traditional Berber villages and stunning panoramic viewpoints.

The first major stop is the historic village of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its remarkable earthen architecture. This ancient fortified village has served as the backdrop for many famous films and series. Walking through its narrow alleys offers a glimpse into Morocco past and incredible views over the surrounding desert landscape.

After exploring Ait Benhaddou, the journey continues to Ouarzazate, often called the Hollywood of Africa. Travelers can optionally visit the Atlas Film Studios, one of the largest film studios in the world.

In the afternoon, the drive continues through the Valley of Roses toward the dramatic Dades Valley, where dramatic rock formations and lush green valleys create an unforgettable landscape. The day ends with dinner and an overnight stay in a charming guesthouse surrounded by the peaceful scenery of the Dades Gorges.

Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Desert [269 km]

After breakfast, the journey continues through spectacular desert landscapes toward Todra Gorge, one of Morocco most impressive natural wonders. Towering canyon walls rise dramatically above the riverbed, creating a beautiful place for a short walk and photographs.

From here, the road leads through traditional Berber villages and palm-filled oases toward the historic town of Rissani, once an important trading center and the birthplace of Morocco ruling dynasty.

By late afternoon, you will arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Here, the vast golden dunes of Erg Chebbi stretch across the horizon.

In the evening, enjoy a memorable camel trek across the Sahara dunes as the sun sets over the desert. The night is spent in a traditional desert camp where you’ll enjoy a Moroccan dinner, Berber music around the campfire, and a peaceful night beneath a sky full of stars.

Day 3: Explore Merzouga Desert Area

Wake up early to witness one of the most magical moments of the trip the sunrise over the Sahara Desert. As the sun rises, the dunes glow in shades of gold and orange, creating an unforgettable scene.

Today is dedicated to discovering the fascinating culture and landscapes around Merzouga. Visit the village of Khamlia, known for its traditional Gnawa music, which reflects deep African cultural roots. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet local nomadic families and learn about their desert lifestyle.

In the afternoon, explore nearby fossil sites where ancient marine fossils reveal the region’s prehistoric past. Return to your hotel in the evening to relax.

Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes [467 km]

After breakfast, depart from Merzouga and travel north toward Fes. The journey begins with stunning views of the Ziz Valley, famous for its vast palm groves and beautiful oasis landscapes.

Continuing through the Middle Atlas Mountains, the scenery gradually changes to forests and cooler mountain air. A stop in the Azrou Cedar Forest offers the chance to see the famous Barbary macaque monkeys that live in the area.

The route also passes through Ifrane, often called the Switzerland of Morocco thanks to its alpine-style architecture and clean streets. By evening, you will arrive in Fes and overnight.

Day 5: Guided Tour of Fes

Today is dedicated to exploring the fascinating city of Fes with a knowledgeable local guide. The historic Fes Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the best-preserved medieval cities in the world.

Your guided tour will take you through its maze-like streets filled with artisans, markets, and historic monuments. Highlights include the Al Quaraouiyine University, considered the oldest existing university in the world, and the beautifully decorated Bou Inania Madrasa.

You’ll also visit the famous Chouara Tannery, where leather has been produced using traditional techniques for centuries. Other highlights include the stunning Nejjarine Fountain and the impressive gates of the Royal Palace.

After a full day of discovery, enjoy dinner and relax in your riad in the heart of the old city.

Day 6: Transfer to Casablanca, Fes, or Marrakech

On the last day of your 6 days tour from Marrakech to Casablanca, after breakfast you will leave Fes and drive toward Casablanca or return to Marrakech, depending on your travel plans.
